In The Spotlight: Nina Pierce

Tell us about your upcoming release and what you hope readers will enjoy about it.
I am very pleased that my erotic shifter novella, “Blue Moon Rising” will be available in September from Liquid Silver Books in the “Furry, Fluffy, and Wild” anthology.

It’s my first shifter story and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed writing about these wolves. Of course our hero not only is the pack council leader, he’s also the Chief of Police working to solve both animal and shifter murders in his Montana town. When a beautiful stranger comes into Lonesome Fork, he wonders if her arrival days before the full moon is merely a coincidence or part of the elaborate scheme to dessimate the wolf shifter population.
This story is filled with intrigue, hot sex, and of course some sexy wolf shifters.
If you could have one special super or magical power, what would it be?
Wah … only one? Okay, I thought maybe super maid, does dishes, laundry, dusting and vacuuming in under five minutes, but then I’d have to do it for others and that wouldn’t be any fun (and I’d still never find time for writing).
So I think I’d like to have the power to whip any man into a romance machine. Not a sex machine … they’re already programmed for that *cackle* … but the hot, sexy guys we love to make of our heros. I could take your run of the mill guy and I’d zap his voice to be sexy and hot and sigh out just the right compliments at the right time. I’d transform those tired eyes and hands into dreamy, lustfilled eyes, and gentle touches that would make any woman swoon. And of course that would be a super-power service I wouldn’t mind sharing!

What do you like to do when you’re not working?
I love my family. The husband, the kids, my parents, my siblings, heck, I even love my mother-in-law! When I’m not writing I spend time with them at the beach or lake, playing games or just shooting the breeze. They are such a wonderful support system. I don’t know what I’d do without them.
Bad boy/girl or perfect gentleman/woman to write about?
Bad, bad, and more bad. Who doesn’t fantasize about tangling with that? I love that rough alpha-exterior on both men and women. But of course, they have to be all warm and gooey on the inside. Even if it’s only their significant other that knows the truth, they have to have a wonderful heart.
If you could visit any time and place, where and when would it be and why?
I’d love to go back to the American early west when it was just the Indians roaming the plains. I know they had a hard existence, but it also seemed so simple. It was all about the clan. I would just love to live off the land and be in a community where everyone took care of one another.
If you could be a shapeshifter, what form would you take and why?
Black panther. I love that sleek look, it’s so sensual. I like that the females are so respected in their pride. Besides, they have sharp teeth and claws … oh, the things a woman could do with that!

Where are you published? Where can readers reach you?
Currently all my books are with Liquid Silver Books, an electronic publisher of erotic fiction. They are an amazing company to work with. Extremely supportive of their authors. You can find me on their website But I also keep my readers up-to-date on my own website
What else would you like readers to know about you or your work?
I am always writing. My stories have some element of suspense in them as well as the love story and erotica, though the genre may change. I’ve written science fiction, contemporary, and paranormal. I’m working on a possible historical erotica. I am currently working to get some of my books in print and hope to announce that as early as 2009.

Sneak look into Blind Love:

Her arms knotted across her chest for protection. A wounded heart? He’d have to tread carefully. The emerald eyes shimmering in the waning light telegraphed her pain, but her lips were pursed thin with determination. The woman was a walking enigma. Damon suspected she had no idea how damn sexy she looked standing there, inviting him to explain himself–daring him to breach her defenses.

“Look, Julie. I’m not going to lie to you. Demon Jones is very popular with the ladies. Damon Corey … not so much. If you’re looking for the person I was last night, well, you’re in for a big surprise. He’s as fake as Santa Claus.”

“I still believe in Santa Claus.”

She would. “The Easter bunny, then.”

“But he doesn’t try to pass himself off as anything but the chocolate peddler that he is. I don’t think any hearts have ever been broken by the Easter bunny.”

“Julie…” Damon’s hand found its way to her cheek, his fingers tangling in her hair. She smelled earthy and fresh, and he gulped in great breaths of heaven, not sure he could ever completely fill his lungs. When he pressed his lips to hers, she didn’t resist. Julie opened to him, and their tongues meshed and explored, and he walked her backward into the living room and shut out the neighbor’s prying eyes.

“Damon.” The husky way she spoke sent blood rushing from his head straight to his throbbing dick. He wanted her like no woman he’d known.

“Julie, I haven’t stopped thinking about you all day. You crawled into my head last night, and all I’ve thought about is how to get a repeat performance.”

She pulled from him, her lips swollen from his assault. “I don’t do this…” Her hand stirred the heated air between them. “…very well. I’ve been told I’m not good at it. I think you lucked out last night.”

He scooped her into his arms. “Oh, you let me be the judge of that. And your bedroom would be where?” He was already heading down the hall.

In the Spotlight: CJ England

17 04 2008

CJ England credits her passion for writing to her second grade sweetheart, Steven, a blond haired cutie with dimples, who dumped her for a girl who could swing on the monkey bars. She wrote her first story about love and loss after that tragic episode.

In her life she has modeled, competed in rodeos as a barrel racer and trick rider, taught preschool, performed as an actress and singer, served cocktails at Disneyworld, specialized in production work, and got carried away by Spiderman when she worked with him at Universal Studios.

She is a gypsy, due to her curiosity and “itchy feet”, spending time in fourteen countries, and has visited forty-two states in our own.  Even raising three kids didn’t slow her down. Married to her own personal hottie, Jonathon, who is her inspiration, lover and bestest friend, she plans to travel the world, writing about all the places they visit.

She is known on the internet as a bestselling, award winning author who can bring sensuality and romance together in ways that require you keep a fire extinguisher and a box of Kleenex handy. Described as having ‘innovative story lines’, ‘a whiz at character development’ and ‘quite simply a genius!’, CJ wants her books to spark the imaginations of her readers. So they will begin to believe anything can happen if you…Follow Your Dreams.

When Calion Sáralondë, Prince of the Calen’taur Elves, rescues the human female from an orcan stronghold, his attraction to her is immediate and strong. And the feeling is mutual. Though their love is sardai—taboo—Calion can’t bring himself to send her back to her world. Her presence sets a fire in his soul only mating with her can tame.

And their passion could be the answer to an ancient prophecy that saves his world.

This book was the first one I ever submitted for publication and I was ecstatic when my editor at Samhain (the lovely Jennifer) chose it to publish.  The story is very special to me because 1) it was my first attempt at getting published and 2) it has a lot of ME in it.  As the reader enjoys the story, they will also get to know CJ in a very special way.

What do you like to do when you’re not working?   I have several activities I enjoy when I’m not writing.  Number One I love reading.  Right now I’ve set aside my Sundays just to enjoy a good book.  I find if I don’t set time aside for it, I’m so busy writing and working I don’t get to do what brought me into the business in the first place. I am also an outdoor’s nut.  I love riding the motorcycle on back roads we’ve (Jonathon, my hunky husband and I) have discovered.  I walk as much as possible and enjoy a good meal when we are out.

And travel.  My favorite activity of all.  I love to explore places I haven’t yet seen.  We’ve lived and visited cities all over the world and it just whets my appetite for more.  Where we live next is up for grabs.  It all depends on which way the wind blows.

What season is your favorite and why?  Depends where I’m living.  If I’m living up north, I love the summertime.  Warm beautiful days and nights where you can sleep on the deck and enjoy the sunset.  But if I’m in the south, I love the spring.  Seeing the plants bloom so quickly and watching all the new babies start to swim, fly and skitter.  And I have to admit, knowing I’m nice and warm when everyone else is being snowed on is kinda fun.  LOL

What would we find on your bookcase if we looked? What is one of your favorite authors?   Everything!  LOL  I am a very eclectic reader.  I love romance stories, mystery stories and some fantasy/sci-fi as well as hundreds of non-fictions.  I have so many books Jonathon complains about them when we move.  When I told him about ebooks he cheered.   But still I have almost 20 large boxes of “friend books” I have to have wherever I go.

My favorite romance author over all is Nora Roberts, followed closely by Elizabeth Lowell, Jayne Ann Krentz and Linda Howard.  Favorite mystery authors include Dame Christe, Lilian Jackson Braun, and Ellis Peters.

I enjoy Terry Brooks, Piers Anthony, Frank Peretti and Anne McCaffrey whose books have given me hours of pleasure over the years.

What was the last book you read (e or print) and did you like it? The last new book I read was the latest series by Jayne Ann Krentz / Amanda Quick.  The Arcane Society.  It goes back and forth between the Victorian era and today and follows a group of people who have paranormal abilities.  I love the premise and since she is one of my favorite authors, I really enjoyed them.

Right now, I’m rereading the Death series by J.D. Robb.  It is my favorite Nora Roberts series over all and I’ve read them over and over again

What makes a good book?  IMHO, the best book has these ingredients.  Great characters, vivid world building, emotion that makes you feel along with the people in the book, and a plotline that you can’t put down.  In fact whenever I get a letter from a fan mentioning any of these things, I’m jazzed.  Tell me I nailed it with all of them and I break out the champagne.  <smile>

What’s the most interesting thing you’ve ever done?  Wow!  That’s a hard one.  I feel I am really lucky to have had so many great experiences in my life.  I’ve lived well and been able to do so many things.

If I had to choose one experience, I guess it would be all the traveling I’ve been able to do.  The times I’ve spent in other countries like England, Australia and Mexico were a dream come true and I can’t wait to do more.  Next up?  The Far East and Ireland!  I’ll let you know how it goes!

Boxers or briefs? Call me a problem child.  LOL  I choose boxer-briefs.  Much more sexy.  Love having the best of both worlds.

Ben Affleck or Matt Damon to save the world? Lord, another tough one.  I enjoy both actors, but I have to admit a special pit-pat of my heart for Matt Damon.  Love him in the Bourne series, adore him in the Oceans movies and even laughed myself sick whenever his puppet appeared in Team America, even though it wasn’t him doing it.

If he’s in a movie, I know I’ll take the time to see it.  <grin>

Where are you published?   I am right now published at Samhain, Aspen Mountain, New Concepts, Whiskey Creek Torrid, Under the Moon (Print), and Amber Quill Heat.  Check out my website for all the links!

What else would you like readers to know about you or your work?   I am an old fashioned romantic.  While I write sensual romance and enjoy a little heat in my stories, I’m really a traditionalist at heart.

In my stories you’ll find true love between committed couples that will make you laugh, weep and reach for a fire extinguisher.

And I want my readers to know that true love does exist, both in real life and my stories.  And all you have to do to find it is…Follow Your Dreams.

Tell us about your latest book and what you think readers will get out of it.

My new book Bid For Love is about a woman named Nico who was ready to give up on love. Then she meets Jeff, a construction worker and he awakens everything inside her. She has hope again that there is a chance for happiness after all. Readers will see that no matter how bad things can get when it comes to the matter of the heart you should never give up. The one time you might pass up on someone might be when that right person has come along in your life.

Can you describe your characters to us? Do you pattern them after anyone you know or is it pure imagination?

Nico is a shy woman who’s not the life of the party. Like many she’s spent a lot of time trying to find her one and only but after the last disaster of a relationship she has given up.

Jeff is a hard working construction company owner who is just looking for a woman who is more then a one night. He wants someone that he can start a future with but the only women he’s meeting are only looking for a night of fun. Both of those characters are pretty much my imagination. I want the characters I write to be real, someone readers can relate to. Ones that have made mistakes and might not be perfect but they are ones readers will fall in love with.

What genre have you not done but want to in the future?

I have not done sci-fi. I love the sci-fi genre and would love to write a book that’s takes place on some far away world or a space ship. Something that is out of this world.

Tell us about your most erotic romantic fantasy. If you could have a 24-hour romantic fling with anyone you wanted, anywhere you wanted, where would you go, what would you do and with whom would you do it?

Oh my, how much I would love to get away. If I had 24 hours to have a fling it would have to be with Gerard Butler. That man just makes you melt. I would want to fly to Italy and spend the whole 24 hours there, take in the sites and take a gondola ride. Then have a romantic dinner somewhere and see where that leads. When it comes to what happens next, well I think I’ll just have to say that if I reveal my fantasy I would probably have too many guys knocking on my door.

If you could have one special super or magical power, what would it be?

Hmm, one power..That’s a hard choice but if I had to pick one it would be the ability to fly. Who wouldn’t want to be able to? I could fly all around the world and see all the different places I have always wanted to go to. If I wanted to go somewhere I could get there no problem.

VIN Diesel or Gerard Butler?  Gerard Butler for sure. I don’t even have to stop and think. That man is so sexy…Very drool worthy. LOL

If you could visit any time and place, where and when would it be and why?

I would love to go back to the 1950’s. It was an interesting time and I just loved the fashion. It was totally different from the fashion today and life in general was very different. I think it would be something to see how life was back then.

Who’s more fun to write about, bad boys or perfect gentlemen and why?

Bad boys for sure. No matter how much you want to deny it there is always something that draws you to a bad boy. You know they are bad and that just makes it more exciting. They are living on the wild side.

Do you watch reality tv? If so, Which one is your guilty pleasure and why? If not, then what do you prefer to watch?

I don’t watch reality tv. These days I really don’t watch tv at all. I would rather spend my time working on a book, reading or listening to music.

Tell us about your latest book and what you think readers will get out of it.

No Monkey’s Business released from Changeling on January 17th. It’s a fun romp I wrote to start off my Agency series at Changeling. Jess is trying to prove to her superiors that she is more than woman enough for a promotion. They’ve sent her to a practice mission to accomplish not only the same task as the other agents, but also an additional one. If she finishes both before anyone finishes the first one, then they will discuss her promotion. Chase has asked for this practice mission as soon as he learns Jessica will be there. He’s wanted to get in her pants since the first time he saw her at headquarters. He could care less about succeeding at the mission as long as he gets a chance to seduce the elusive agent.

Can you describe your characters to us? Do you pattern them after anyone you know or is it pure imagination?

Sometimes people I know will inspire me, and then I’ll give a character some of their traits. In those cases I explain to my friends that I can and will take liberties with their character that they might not do in real life. If they have issues, I will change the character name, but once inspired, I go with it.

What genre have you not done but want to in the future?

Tell us about your most erotic romantic fantasy. If you could have a 24-hour romantic fling with anyone you wanted, anywhere you wanted, where would you go, what would you do and with whom would you do it?

I have four kids and no erotic fantasy…but since you are forcing me to answer this…. Can I have a vampire like Sorin from my bodyguard series? Or do you want me to pick a TV or movie star? I don’t generally lust after people (ignores my critique partners as I say that) Sometimes I fall in love with a singer’s voice…ok romantic makes me think long moonlit walks on a beach, tropical breeze, scantily dressed peeps 😉 A cruise maybe. And that’s all I can say that is acceptable for the general public 😉

If you could have one special super or magical power, what would it be?

 Hmm control the weather.

If you could visit any time or place, which and where would it be and why? Ancient Ireland to see the druids and Stonehenge.

What’s more fun to write about, bad boys or perfect gentlemen and why? MMmm, depends on who is writing them. I enjoy writing stories with both types of men.

Do you watch reality TV? If so, what is your one guilty pleasure? If not, what do you prefer to watch?

I like Big Brother. I gave up on Survivor a few seasons ago. I like Ghost Hunters.

VIN Diesel or Gerard Butler?

Vin Diesel

Where can readers reach you?

 Where are you published?

Loose Id, Changeling Press, Aspen Mountain Press, Whiskey Creek Press Torrid and Cobblestone Press.

Thanks for stopping in and I hope you enjoy yourself. J

Oh I did, and now I want to go write a romantic tale of a druidic vampire… as if I needed more ideas 😉 Thank you!
